Identity itself has become a battleground, with attacks on those perceived as outside traditional norms. I began The Heroinez Journey to learn and to understand—without judgment—how dancers, who know their bodies more intimately than most, choose to transform them so drastically. Through this research, non-binary dancers openly shared their experiences, offering clarity about why they transitioned and the challenges they faced. My hope is that by promoting this understanding, more people will be moved toward acceptance. Without it, hatred takes root and spreads.
